I was in Wally world (Wal-Mart) last night buying .30-06 ammo in preparation for my battle with a shipping carrier (Just kidding guys ) Anyway I was in the sporting goods department and looking a firearm maintenance supplies. There on the bottom shelf was swede bunny ear barrel and stock supports used for supporting a rifle while sighting and maintenance. Looking at them I noticed they were just about the same size and packed with the same weight shot as in My Martin Bunny Ear bench neck support I bought years ago. I also noticed That they were priced at $19 for the pair. That is half the price for 2 as I paid for one 5 years ago. They are not as nice of leather or as fancy stitched as my Martin Bunny ear but when I go them home to see if the height would work they were perfect

Michael, the bunny-ear supports were always made for the rear support for a rifle being shot off of the bench, they were never designed specifically for guitar building, but have just been adapted to that use. I must have bought my original ones more than 30 years ago. My current 'Bald Eagle' are very well made. As with most things you can always buy them cheaper when sold for their original use. Most sporting goods shops should stock them.

I knew this Collin. Ive been a hunter and Marksman nut since I was 12 but most of the bunny ears I have seen in sporting supply stores were in the neighborhood of what I paid for my Martin $42 for one. I was surprised to find a pair at $19. Granted they are swede not smooth leather and the stitching is not near as nice as on the higher dollar bunny ears but I though 2 for half the price was worth mentioning to anyone thinking of purchasing one for their bench.

What is that? A 300 mag?

Yes the $19 is cheap and would certainly do the job for neck support though I like chrome leather for the gun to ride on.

No not a 300 win mag, it's a wildcat of a wildcat! A 6mm Badger, basically a shortened 6mm/284 with 40deg shoulders, it is the ultimate long range varmint rifle! Oh, in a 40X remington with 36X leupold, Hall HV FG benchrest stock.

Found another source for these here. Thread got me thinking, I've wanted one of these, but didn't want to spend the cash the luthier suppliers want.

I thought all firearms were banned in GB? Obviously I was wrong, but what restrictions, controls, etc. are placed on gun owners?

My fav is my AR-15 (.223 cal)...please don't call it an assault rifle!

30-06 (not much left to speak of after one of these rounds)
.223 (AR-15)
Kalishnikov Model 47
Walter PPK (not the most effective, but fun nonetheless)

Varmints!! I like my .25-06 and .22-250. both will shoot nearly dead flat almost a halve mile (small exaggeration) but then again our varmints in these parts are pretty small and easy to drop. Nothing like dropping a coyote at 500 yards Yes I have done it.MichaelP39059.7295486111
